Cabs are classified into three categories. The fare will be the same for app-based cab aggregators as well as city taxis. Earlier the fares for both categories of taxis were different.
Now Ola and Uber will not operate arbitrarily in Karnataka. City taxis and taxis operating through app-based aggregators like Uber and Ola will have to follow the new fare regime announced by the Karnataka Transport Department.
Fares for both categories of taxis will be the same
An order in this regard was issued on Saturday. The fare will be the same for app-based cab aggregators as well as city taxis. Earlier the fares for both categories of taxis were different. The revised fare has been implemented in the entire state.
The fare for each additional km will be Rs 28.
Cabs are classified into three categories. For vehicles whose purchase cost is Rs 10 lakh or less, the minimum fare has been fixed at Rs 100 for up to four km and thereafter Rs 24 for each additional km. For vehicles costing between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh, the minimum fare is Rs 115 and the fare for each additional km will be Rs 28.
The minimum fare for vehicles costing more than Rs 15 lakh has been fixed at Rs 130. The fare for each additional kilometer will be Rs 32.
