Kedarnath Dham: Every year lakhs of visitors reach Uttarakhand to visit the world famous Jyotirlinga Kedarnath Dham. This Dham does not remain open for devotees for long because snowfall starts here, due to which the doors are closed. This year once again the devotees of Bhole are waiting for the Kedarnath Yatra to begin. A good news has come for those who want to go on the Yatra as the date for opening the doors has been fixed.
On the occasion of Mahashivratri on 26 February, it has been announced that the doors of Shri Kedarnath Dham will be opened for devotees on 2 May this year at 7 am on Shubh Lagna. Let us tell you that this Dham is the main among the five centers and is called Jyotirling 11 times out of the twelve Jyotirlingas.
When will the doors of Kedarnath open?
The doors of the world famous Kedarnath Dham will be opened on 2nd May at 7 am in the month of Vaishakh in the auspicious combination of Gemini and Taurus ascendant. Before this, Bhairavnath ji will be worshipped on 27th April. Baba’s Panchmukhi Doli will leave for Kedarnath Dham from Ukhimath on 28th April.
Date decided as per Panchang calculation
This date of opening of the doors of Shri Kedarnath Dham has been decided after Panchang calculation in the presence of Rawal Bhimashankar Ling and other officials here. This date was decided in Ukhimath. First of all, worship started in Lord Omkareshwar temple here. Here Baba Kedar was offered Bal Bhog and Mahabhog and Aarti was done. After this, the date of opening of the doors was announced.
Ukhimath decorated with flowers
Today, on the occasion of Mahashivratri, Omkareshwar temple Ukhimath was decorated grandly with flowers. During this time, hundreds of devotees reached here for worship and darshan. On one side, Bhajan Kirtan of Bholenath was going on in which devotees were seen immersed in devotion. As soon as the date of opening of the doors of Baba Kedarnath Dham was decided, the program of departure of Panchmukhi Doli towards the Dham has also been announced.
How will the Panchmukhi Doli go?
- Before the departure of Baba Kedarnath’s Panchmukhi Doli, Bhairavnath ji will be worshipped on 27th April.
- The Doli will depart from Ukhimath on 28th April and its first stop will be Shri Vishwanath Temple located in Gupt Kashi.
- On 29th April, the Doli will be taken out from Vishwanath Temple and will reach the second stop Phata.
- On 30th April, it will go from here to the third stop Gaura Devi Temple and Gaurikund.
- On 1st May, the Panchmukhi Doli of Kedarnath ji will reach the Dham.
- On 2nd May, at 7 am in the auspicious Lagna, the doors of Kedarnath Dham will be opened for the pilgrims.
