Digital Life Certificate through Doorstep Banking: October is about to end and November is very important for crores of pensioners across the country. This month they have to submit their life certificate i.e. digital life certificate.


According to the rules of the Central Government, super senior citizens i.e. pensioners above 80 years of age are getting a chance to submit their life certificate from 1st October to 30th November. Whereas senior citizens above 60 years of age are getting a chance to submit life certificate between November 1 and November 30. The thing to note is that life certificate is a biometric based digital service, which can be availed by pensioners of both the center and the state.

Submit life certificate through door step banking

The thing to note is that if a pensioner wants to submit his life certificate from home instead of bank or post office, then he can do it through door step banking. According to the information given on the website of State Bank of India, the country’s largest public sector bank, if you want to avail this service, then you can contact the nearest branch of SBI for this. According to the report published in Economic Times, you can avail the benefit of door step banking through DSB app, web portal or toll free number.

These are the important things required to submit life certificate through door step banking-

1. It is necessary to have Aadhaar number.
2. It is necessary to have a mobile number.
3. Aadhaar number must be linked to the pension paying bank account or post office account.
4. It is also necessary to give biometrics.
5. It is also important for you to have things like PPO number, pension account number, bank details etc.

How much will be the charge?

According to the news of Economic Times, customers have to pay a fee for door step banking. This is decided according to different banks. Usually banks charge Rs 70 for this and a separate GST charge. Some banks also provide this service for free to senior citizen customers.

Register for door step banking in this way-

1. According to the information given on the State Bank website, first of all download the Door Step Banking App.
2. Further register yourself by entering your mobile number.
3. Next an OTP will come which enter on the DSB app.
4. Next complete your name, pin code, email, password and terms and conditions.
5. Next enter your address and select the time slot.
6. Then after this the bank will debit the door step banking charge from your account.
7. Then you will get the service number.
8. The bank will send an SMS in which the agent’s name, mobile number and other details will be recorded.
9. Then your life certificate will be deposited at your home itself.
