Life Certificate: If you are also a pensioner, then there is important news for you. Now a new facility has been started for pension account holders. The facility for submission of digital life certificate through Aadhaar based face authentication for very senior pensioners has started from October 1. Others will be able to submit DLC from November 1st.
DLC submission started from Oct 1: The window for submitting Jeevan Pramaan for pensioners has started from October 1. Submission of Life Certificate for very senior pensioners aged 80 years and above starts from 1st October every year. Whereas, for others the submission of life certificate starts from 1st November every year. Pension regulator PFRDA has directed banks to run doorstep campaigns for very senior citizens to upload or submit pension life certificates.
The pension insurance regulator has advised all banks to use various platforms to raise awareness about the ease of obtaining life certificate using face authentication technology. Banks are advised to provide facility of submission of life certificates to bed-ridden, hospitalized pensioners by appointing doorstep banking officers.
Through the face authentication technology used in Digital Life Certificate, every citizen can submit their Digital Life Certificate from home through Android smartphone or bank branch.
What is Digital Life Certificate?
According to India Post Payments Bank, Digital Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan) is a biometric enabled digital service for pensioners. Pensioners of Central or State Government, Employees Provident Fund Organization or any other government organization whose pension disbursing agency is live for Digital Life Certificate (DLC) can avail this facility.
How to submit life certificate through face authentication?
The government has now created a face-recognition technology system based on the Aadhaar database, which allows anyone with an Android-based smartphone to submit their Digital Life Certificate (DLC). Pensioners can also submit life certificate through the official website of Jeevan Pramaan Portal.
