According to the new order of the Delhi government, now liquor sellers in Delhi can give a discount of 25 percent on the MRP rate of liquor. Earlier, under the new excise policy, the Delhi government had given the facility to the liquor vendors in Delhi that they can sell liquor at a rate less than the MRP.
Taking advantage of the new policy, in the month of January and February in Delhi, many liquor vendors had announced huge discounts on the MRP rate of liquor. After this exemption, a huge crowd was being seen at the liquor shops in Delhi. In view of the danger of corona epidemic, the Delhi government had decided to discontinue this exemption, so that there would be minimum crowd at the liquor shops.
After this many shopkeepers had approached the Delhi High Court. Now the Delhi government has again approved the exemption on the sale of liquor.
Will you get ‘one bottle free’ liquor in Delhi?
After the implementation of the new excise policy in Delhi, many shopkeepers were offering ‘one bottle free’ on liquor. At the same time, ‘one box on one free’ offer was being offered on beer at many shops.
But since now under the new order, shopkeepers now have the right to give 25 percent discount only on MRP. In this sense, now the offer of ‘one bottle on one free’ will not be available in Delhi. However, it may happen that shopkeepers can start offering a quarter free on a full bottle of liquor.
