In view of the assembly elections going to be held in Delhi, an order has been issued to keep the liquor shops closed. According to the order of the Delhi government, liquor shops will remain closed in Delhi from February 3 to February 5. Apart from this, the shops will also be closed on the day of results (February 8).
The Excise Commissioner of Delhi has issued a gazette notification and ordered to keep the liquor shops closed. The notification states that the liquor shops in the capital Delhi will be closed at 6 pm on February 3. These shops will open at 5 pm after the voting ends on the day of voting (February 5). After this, the shops will also remain closed on the day of counting on February 8.
Hotels and restaurants will also not be allowed to sell liquor
Apart from liquor shops, hotels, restaurants, clubs and establishments selling or serving liquor will also not be allowed to operate during dry day in Delhi. The notification states that clubs, star hotels, restaurants as well as any hotel should not be allowed to serve liquor, even if the establishment has a license to store and supply liquor.
