Lok Sabha Elections 2024: If you are a registered voter then you can cast your vote even without Voter ID card. But if you have a voter ID and your name is not in the voter list then you cannot cast your vote.

New Delhi:Lok Sabha elections (Lok Sabha Elections 2024) are to be held in seven phases across the country. In which voting will be held in Delhi under the sixth phase. Only eight days are left for voting on seven seats of Lok Sabha (Delhi Lok Sabha Elections 2024) in Delhi. In such a situation, Delhi Election Office has started distributing voter slips to registered voters. Voter slips are distributed by booth level officers (BLOs). This work will be completed in the next few days.
When are elections in Delhi?

Voting in Delhi will be held on May 25 and for this, 13,641 polling booths have been set up at 2,627 places across the city. There are more than 1.52 crore voters here.

What is Voter Information Slip (VIS)?

Apart from the voter’s information, the voter slip also contains the polling location, polling booth number and serial number of the person in the electoral list, which helps people to cast their vote without any hassle. .
Information about polling location and booth will be available through voter slip.
Let us tell you that to cast your vote, your voter slip has to be kept safe and it has to be taken with you to the polling station on the election day. Voter slip helps voters to easily find their details in polling location, booth and list. With this, the staff present at the polling center will be able to quickly find your name in the Voter List (Voter List 2024), which will save everyone’s time.

How to check name in voter list?

In such a situation, before going to vote, you must check whether your name is in the voter list (Delhi Voter List) or not. The process of checking name in voter list (Search Your Name in Voters list) is quite easy. You can check your name in the voter list through your mobile phone sitting at home.

To check your name in Delhi Voter List, you can use the SMS service of Election Commission. For this you have to type ‘EPIC voter ID’ and send SMS to number 7738299899. After this you will get complete details in the message.
For information related to this, you can also use helpline number 1950. Apart from this, you can check your name in the online voter list by visiting www.ceodelhi.gov.in or www.nvsp.in.

Voter ID card is also necessary to cast vote.

However, Voter Information Slip (VIS) alone is not necessary to cast vote. You also have to carry with you the Voter ID Card issued by the Election Commission. The identity of voters is verified through Voter ID card so that no one can vote in place of someone else or vote again. If you are a registered voter then you can cast your vote even without Voter ID Card (Voter ID Card Online).

According to the Election Commission, apart from Voter ID, there are many other documents which can be shown to get permission to vote. For this, the Election Commission has released a list of 12 documents, if any one of these documents is present then the vote can be cast. The names of these documents are as follows…

  • Aadhar card
  • PAN card
  • Driving license
  • Passport
  • Pension card
  • Unique Disability ID i.e. UDID ID
  • Service id card
  • Passbook issued by post office and bank
  • Health Insurance Smart Card issued by Labor Ministry
  • Smart card issued by RGI under National Population Register (NPR)
  • Official ID card issued for MP-MLA and MLC
  • MNREGA job card

If you have a Voter ID and your name is not in the Voter List (Check your name in the

Voters List of Delhi) then you cannot cast your vote. At the same time, if your name is in the voter list (Search your name in voters list) and you do not have a voter ID, you can still cast your vote using the document specified by the Election Commission.

At the same time, those who have not received the Voter Slip (Download Voter Slip), they do not need to worry. You can download Voter Slip Online using Voter ID number.
