BSP candidate withdrew his candidature
High voltage drama is going on in Surat Lok Sabha seat for the last two-three days. An objection was lodged by BJP regarding the form of Congress candidate Nilesh Kumbhani. A hearing was held yesterday on Sunday and the nomination of the Congress candidate was declared invalid.
Today during the process of withdrawal of forms, BSP candidate Pyarelal has withdrawn his form, BJP candidate has been declared unopposed on this seat. However, the official announcement will be made around 3 pm.
BJP candidate was elected unopposed
A total of 9 candidates were in the fray after the form of Congress candidate was canceled for Surat Lok Sabha seat. Out of which 7 candidates including independents have withdrawn their forms. Now only one candidate was left. This BSP candidate Pyarelal has withdrawn his nomination after reaching Surat Collectorate. There will be no rival candidate against the BJP candidate and in such a situation the BJP candidate has been declared unopposed.
With this, Surat has become the first uncontested seat in the country in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
BSP candidate asked for security
After the high voltage drama, BSP candidate Pyarelal has demanded police protection. Bahujan Samaj Party’s Surat District President Sutish Sonawane applied to the District Collector and Election Officer that Pyarelal Bharti is being lured.

Dinesh Jodhani, election agent of BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal, during the verification of the form, had raised objection regarding the form of Congress candidate Nilesh Kumbhani and said that he is aware that there is no proposer of the Congress candidate. This information was given to Congress candidate’s election agent Physik Coldy.
The hearing took place yesterday and Jagdish Savalia, Ramesh Pollara and Dhruvin Dhamelia, who had signed the Congress candidate’s form as a motion, appeared before the election officer and said that they had not signed the form and also filed an affidavit. After this a hearing was held and later the election officer canceled his nomination.
