But, if your Voter ID card has become useless or lost then you can apply for a duplicate card. The method of making a duplicate voter ID card is very easy. In such a situation, if your Voter ID is not available then follow these easy steps and download the new Voter ID card.
How to download Voter ID
To download the voter card, you must have a mobile number registered with the voter card. If the mobile number is not registered then the voter card will not be downloaded. To register mobile number, you can apply online through Form 8. If your number is registered then you just have to follow this process:
- To download the voter card, visit the Voters Service Portal of the Election Commission (https://voters.eci.gov.in/).
- After this click on the link ‘Download e-EPIC’. Enter your EPIC number (Voter ID number) or form number.
- After this you have to click on ‘Request OTP’. Please note that this OTP will come on your registered mobile number or email ID.
- After entering OTP, click on ‘Submit’.
- After this your e-EPIC (Digital Voter Card) will be downloaded, you can take a print out of it wherever you want.
How to change photo in Voter ID card
If you do not like the photo in the Voter ID, you can easily change it. For this follow this process:
- First of all go to https://voters.eci.gov.in/ website.
- Select Correction of entries in existing electoral roll option.
- Select Form 8 and then fill a form.
- Fill in all other information in the form like your full name, part number, serial number and photo identity card number.
- Now click on Photograph option.
- You will be asked to fill your name, address and voter ID card number.
- Enter your date of birth, gender, mother and husband’s name.
- Now upload your passport size photograph.
- Once you upload the photo, you will be asked to enter your email ID, phone number and location name.
- Enter the date the request was submitted.
- After this you will get a verification message on your mobile number and email ID.
- After this your photo will be converted into Voter ID card.
