Know how to claim
1. Compensation up to a maximum of Rs 50 lakh can be received on an accident. A maximum compensation of Rs 10 lakh can be given to each person injured in the accident.
2. To get the insurance cover of LPG cylinder, the customer has to immediately inform the nearest police station and his LPG distributor about the accident.
3. Distributors of PSU oil marketing companies like Indian Oil, HPC and BPC have to take insurance policy for accidents including third party insurance cover for persons and properties.
4. These are not in the name of any individual customer, but every customer is covered in this policy. For this he does not even have to pay any premium.
5. Keep the copy of FIR, medical bills and medical bills of the injured and postmortem report, death certificate in case of death.
What to do in case of accident?
If there is an accident with a gas cylinder, then first of all a report should be filed with the police. Then, after this the concerned area office investigates what is the cause of the accident. If the accident is an LPG accident, the local office of the LPG distributor agency/area office of the insurance company is informed about it.
