For Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries, it will increase from Rs 500 to Rs 550 and for others, it will increase from Rs 803 to Rs 853 in Delhi. This is a move that we will review later.”

Increase in excise duty on petrol and diesel

The Union Minister further said, “We review it every 2-3 weeks. So, the excise duty hike that you have seen will not be passed on to the consumers on petrol and diesel. The purpose of that excise duty hike is to compensate the oil marketing companies for the Rs 43,000 crore loss they have incurred on the gas side.”
