There can be a big change in the subsidy available on free LPG gas connection under the Ujjwala scheme. According to the report, there may be a change in the existing system of subsidy for new connections under the Ujjwala scheme. It is being told that the Petroleum Ministry has started work on two new methods and it will be released soon. That is, now the government can change the advance payment model.

LPG Subsidy Free Connection: Know What is Advance Payment Model

According to the information, now the company providing LPG connection (Bharat, HP or Indane) will charge a lump sum amount of Rs 1600 as advance payment. In the current system, this amount is exempted from EMI. The government gives the remaining subsidy of Rs 1600. The good thing is that no change is being made in the amount of 1600 rupees received by the government.

Let us tell you, under the Ujjwala scheme of the Modi government, a cylinder and stove of 14.2 kg are given to the customers. It costs around Rs 3200 and gets a subsidy of Rs 1600 from the government while Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) give an advance of Rs 1600.

  • It is very easy to register for Ujjwala Yojana. Under Ujjwala scheme, women of BPL family can apply for gas connection.
  • Complete information about the scheme will be available by visiting the official website pmujjwalayojana.com.
    To register, one has to first fill up a form and submit it to the nearest LPG distributor.
  • The woman applying in the form will also have to give her full address, Jan Dhan bank account and Aadhaar number of all family members.
  • After studying the form, the oil marketing companies of the country issue LPG connection to the eligible beneficiary.
