Amidst the Russia-Ukraine war, the new rates of LPG cylinders will be released tomorrow i.e. on March 1. Domestic LPG cylinders have neither become cheaper nor costlier since 6 October 2021.
However, during this period crude oil prices have crossed $ 102 per barrel. However, there was a significant change in the prices of commercial cylinders during this period.
So will the cylinder be costlier by Rs 100 to 2000 after the election?
There has been a relief for several months in the prices of non-subsidised gas cylinders for the assembly elections in five states. There has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders from October 6, 2021, despite crude oil prices crossing $ 102 per barrel. In such a situation, it is feared that after the election i.e. after March 7, the price of gas may increase by more than Rs 100 to 200 per cylinder.
However, between October 2021 and February 1, 2022, the price of commercial cylinders has increased by Rs 170. On October 1, the price of a commercial cylinder in Delhi was Rs 1736. In November it became 2000 and in December it became Rs 2101. After this, it became cheaper again in January and on February 2022 it became cheaper and came to Rs 1907.

LPG cylinder can also be brought for Rs 634
If we talk about domestic LPG cylinder, then it is getting around Rs 900 in Delhi-Mumbai, Rs 926 in Kolkata and Rs 916 in Chennai. It contains 14.2 kg of gas. If your family is small and you live in Delhi then you can get LPG cylinder for Rs 634 as well. However, the gas in it will be only 10 kg.
