LPG Price Hike: According to the information given by the government, the price of LPG gas cylinder is being increased by Rs 50. This increase will be applicable to all consumers i.e. Ujjwala Yojana and non-Ujjwala.
LPG Price Hike: After petrol and diesel, now the price of LPG gas has also been increased by Rs 50. Announcing the increase in prices, Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that we will review it in the coming days. Today itself, the central government has also increased the price of petrol and diesel by Rs 2. Let us tell you, the increased prices of LPG gas and petrol-diesel will come into effect from 12 o’clock tonight.
What did the government say?
According to the information given by the government, the price of LPG gas cylinder is being increased by Rs 50 from Tuesday 8 April 2025. This increase will be applicable to all consumers i.e. Ujjwala Yojana and non-Ujjwala. Let us tell you that under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), free gas connections are given to poor women so that they can get clean cooking fuel i.e. LPG. The benefit of this scheme is given to poor women of rural areas. Now according to the new prices, both Ujjwala Yojana and other consumers will have to pay Rs 50 more for the gas cylinder.
What did Hardeep Singh Puri say?
Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said that the price of LPG cylinder will be increased by Rs 50. For the beneficiaries of Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), the price of gas cylinder will now increase from Rs 500 to Rs 550, while other consumers will now have to pay Rs 853 instead of Rs 803. The Union Minister said that this decision is not permanent and it will be reviewed every 2 to 3 weeks. Along with this, he also made it clear that the burden of increased excise duty on petrol and diesel will not be put on the common people. This increase has been made to compensate for the loss of Rs 43,000 crore incurred by the oil companies in selling gas to them.
