MacD: Russian businessman Alexander Gower bought it from McDonald’s in May. McDonald’s temporarily halted its business in Russia in March. In less than 2 weeks after Russia attacked Ukraine, McDonald’s decided to wrap up its work.



Gower will now run McDonald's under the new brand name. 62000 employees working in 850 Russian McDonald's for at least 2 years will not be fired and they will continue to get salary. Russia's new McDonald's is opening its restaurants in 15 locations in Moscow. McDonald's restaurants will be opened in 200 places in the country by the end of this month. User reactions started pouring in on Twitter as soon as the logo of McDonald's new restaurant was launched in Russia. Many people called it a copy of other famous brands of the world, while some said that it resembles the 1972 logo of Japanese restaurant chain Moss Burger, Marriott Hotel and Warner Bros.

Some have even compared the logo of McDonald's new restaurant to a droning stick figure, a cricket bat and the flag of Bangladesh.
