Mahila Samman Certificate: Mahila Samman Savings Certificate 2023 is a scheme started by the Government of India, which has been started keeping in mind women investors. The aim of this scheme of the government is to inculcate the habit of saving among women investors. Mahila Samman Savings Certificate is a scheme to deposit money together for two years from April 2023-March 2025. This scheme was implemented through post office from 1 April 2023.

Mahila Samman Certificate

Through an e-gazette announcement published on 27 June 2023, the Department of Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Finance registered all public sector banks and some private banks to run and operate the Mahila Samman Savings Certificate 2023. Apart from India Post, only a few banks give Mahila Samman Savings Certificate. These include Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Bank of India, PNB and Union Bank of India.

Minimum and maximum limit for depositing money

• Minimum Rs 1000 and maximum Rs 2,00,000
• This money is deposited in the account at one time.
• A time gap of 3 months should be kept between opening two accounts under this scheme for the same customer.

Interest rate

• The interest rate in this scheme is 7.5% per annum.
• Interest is received quarterly and is deposited in the account.
• Interest is paid on maturity.

Bank of India is the first public sector bank to launch the Mahila Samman Savings Certificate 2023.

PNB is a public sector bank that issues Mahila Samman Certificates for investors, according to its website.

Union Bank of India

Union Bank of India officially launched the Mahila Samman Savings Certificate (MSSC) 2023 scheme at its branches across India on June 30, 2023.

You can withdraw money prematurely only in these cases

• On the death of the account holder.
• Medical assistance in case of life-threatening illness of the account holder.
• In case of difficulty in operating and continuing the account in case of death of the guardian.
