The Sensex and the Nifty have made a grand debut today amid strong global cues. The Sensex is seeing an increase of about 540 points. Along with heavyweights, midcap stocks are also gaining momentum. The midcap index of BSE is trading at 0.31 per cent. Smallcap shares are also seen buying. BSE Smallcap index is trading with a gain of 0.51 per cent. Oil-gas stocks are also seen very strongly today. BSE’s Oil and Gas Index is trading at over 1 per cent.
At present, the 30-share BSE Sensex is looking at 41,147, with an increase of about 532 points, or 1.31 per cent. On the other hand, NSE Nifty, the 50-share major index, is trading around 12,060 with a gain of about 150 points, ie 1.3%.
