New Delhi, Auto Desk. The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has started production at its plant. Maruti has started its 600 dealerships and service stations in the country. Maruti has already conformed all its models to BS6 emission standards. During the Auto Expo, Maruti also introduced its BS6 standard-equipped Ignis, Brezza compact SUV and petrol-powered S-Cross. Along with this, the company had put its mini SUV S-Presso CNG on display. There have been reports citing sources that the company has started production of its mini SUV with CNG model.
Last year, Maruti launched the petrol version of its S-Presso. The S-Presso is a small hatchback and is giving tough competition to the Tata Tiago and Renault Kwid. It is a fully micro SUV in appearance and has a grille, tall driving position and upright stance in the front.

According to sources, the CNG version of Maruti S-Presso is similar to the petrol powered version. The CNG variant can come in four trims – LXi, LXi (O), VXi and VXi (O). The company can offer a touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The S-Presso will feature Maruti’s S-CNG technology that comes with a factory fitted kit. This is the same technology as the CNG version of the cars of Ertiga, WagonR and other Maruti cars.
Maruti S-Presso CNG will be given the company’s K-series 1 liter petrol engine. The CNG tank company will provide its petrol-powered boot so that it can run on petrol and CNG fuel. However, in terms of power output, it will come with less power and torque. The petrol version of the S-Preso comes with AMT and 5-speed manual gearbox. At the same time, the CNG version comes with the AMT version. Apart from this, many cars of Maruti can be launched soon with the CNG-Petrol Dual Fuel option.Â
