Greater Noida. In order to facilitate public transport, the work of the Greater Noida West Metro train has started gaining momentum. The contract has been awarded to the lowest bidder by opening the tender.
The work of the first phase is expected to start soon after the tender is opened. But the UP Assembly Election 2022 can become an obstacle in the way of the metro train. Even after the tender is issued, one remaining approval of the Central Government is awaited. If this approval is not received in a week, then the election code of conduct will be implemented in UP and once again the work of metro train will be postponed for at least three months.
Country’s first 4-storey metro station will be in Greater Noida
According to experts, this will be the first time when a 4-storey metro train station will be built in Greater Noida. All the 5 stations of the first phase will be of 4 storeys. The metro train route from Noida Sector-51 to Greater Noida West is 15 km, but will start from only 5 metro stations. This will be the first phase of the metro train. All the 5 stations will connect Sector-122, Sector-123, Greater Noida Sector-4, Greater Noida Sector-2 and Ecotech-12 Greater Noida West.
However, 9 stations are to be ready on this entire route. With the commencement of the Greater Noida West Metro Line, the West sectors will also be connected to the Aqua Line of Greater Noida and the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro. This work of metro train was earlier to start from Diwali, but due to Corona lockdown, this plan got delayed. This route will be fully elevated.
Greno West Metro Train Project worth 1100 crores
According to experts, the cost of this entire project in the first phase will be around Rs 11 hundred crore. The entire route of Metro Rail starting from Noida Sector-51 to Greater Noida West Knowledge Park 5 will be elevated. But about Rs 500 crore will be spent on civil work alone. Noida, Greater Noida Authority, UP and Central Government together will give this money. By the way, this project was approved in 2019 itself. It was supposed to start in the year 2022, but due to Corona and lockdown, this project got delayed. Now under this project, metro train is expected to start in 2024 itself.
