Modi government launched new scheme in 15 states, 81 crore ration card holders will benefit

In order to provide nutritious rice to the NFSA beneficiaries of the National Food Security Act, the government has started a pilot scheme for rice fortification in one district in 15 states.

new Delhi. Union Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said that to provide nutritious rice to the National Food Security Act i.e. NFSA beneficiaries, the government has approved one of the 15 states- Pilot scheme of Rice Fortification has been started in a district. Under this, distribution of nutritious rice has started in selected districts of Maharashtra (Maharashtra), Gujarat (Gujarat) and Andhra Pradesh (Andhra Pradesh). Explain that under the National Food Security Act i.e. NFSA, about 81 crore ration card holders of the country are made available cheap food grains.

The distribution of nutritious rice will begin very soon in Odisha and Uttar Pradesh. Other states have also been asked to start it as soon as possible. Nutritional rice containing iron, folic acid and vitamin B12 can overcome malnutrition and anemia.



The order to send 4 months of food grains to the entire country
Paswan has ordered the Food Corporation of India (FCI) to deliver four months of grain to every corner of the country to meet the needs of the grains under the government schemes. . The Union Minister has given this order to FCI in view of the problems arising due to transport during the rainy season.

Paswan said through the tweet that the rainy season is starting. In view of this, orders have been given to the Food and Public Distribution Department and FCI that every four months of sufficient food grains should be delivered in mission mode to every corner of the country as soon as possible so that there is no shortage of food grains in the rainy season. .

The procurement of wheat and paddy from farmers is continuing under the purchase target fixed for the Rabi season 2020-21. FCI has purchased 378.40 LMT of wheat till 13 June. With the purchase of 116.24 LMT paddy in the Rabi season, a total of 735.81 LMT paddy has been procured so far in the 2019-20 season.

Transport of food grains carried out by FCI under PMGKAY
till 14 June FCI has sent 119.67 lakh tonnes of food grains through 4274 rail racks and sent it to various states and out of that, 118.42 lakh tonnes of grain were unloaded from 4229 rail racks. Out of 120 lakh tonnes of foodgrains allocated under PMGKAY, 110.17 lakh tonnes of food grains have been lifted by all states.
