Petrol diesel prices: Modi government has made a big announcement for the Union Territory of Lakshadweep. Hours before the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates, the government has reduced the prices of petrol and diesel in Lakshadweep by more than Rs 15. Prices have been reduced by Rs 15.3 per liter in Andrott and Kalpeni Islands of Lakshadweep and by Rs 5.2 per liter in Kavaratti and Minicoy.
Petrol diesel prices: What did the government say
In a tweet by the Petroleum Ministry, it has been said that Indian Oil has reduced the price of petrol and diesel by Rs 15.3 per liter in Andrott and Kalpeni of Lakshadweep Islands and by Rs 5.2 per liter in Kavaratti and Minicoy. In Lakshadweep, Indian Oil is supplying petrol and diesel to four islands Kavaratti, Minicoy, Andrott and Kalpeni. Retail outlets in Kavaratti and Minicoy are supplied through pipelines directly from fuel depots. Whereas Androt and Kalpeni are supplied through barrels from Kavaratti depot. Petrol and diesel prices across all islands of Lakshadweep will now be Rs 100.75/litre for petrol and Rs 95.71/litre for diesel.
Petrol diesel prices: Rs 2 cut across the country
Last Thursday, the prices of petrol and diesel were reduced by Rs 2 across the country. After this cut, the price of petrol in the national capital Delhi is now Rs 94.72 per liter, which was Rs 96.72 per liter two days ago. Whereas diesel is available at Rs 87.62, which was Rs 89.62 per liter two days ago. In Mumbai, petrol has come down from Rs 106.31 to Rs 104.21 and diesel has come down from Rs 94.27 to Rs 92.15 per litre. In Kolkata, petrol is available at Rs 103.94 and diesel at Rs 90.76 per litre.
