According to the Union Ministry of Labor and Employment, this step has been taken by the government to prepare a database of workers in the unorganized sector. The move is aimed at integrating the social security schemes of the government. The details of workers will also be shared by the state governments and departments. Let us inform that on Tuesday, Labor Minister Bhupendra Yadav had released the logo of the e-shram portal.
Why was it needed: Let us tell you that last year due to CoronaAfter the lockdown , a large number of workers had returned home. There was a crisis of livelihood of the workers. After this development, emphasis was placed on preparing the database. However, there has also been considerable delay in preparing the database. These shortcomings were also seen in the second wave of Corona. This is the reason why the Supreme Court had asked the central government to prepare the database at the earliest, so that the social welfare or other needs of the laborers could be easily met.
