The finance ministry said on Thursday that banks have sanctioned concessional loans of more than Rs 1 lakh crore to Kisan Credit Card (KCC) holders to help meet the financial needs of farmers during the Kovid-19 crisis. The ministry said in a statement that till August 17, 1.22 crore Kisan Credit Cards were issued. Their debt limit is Rs 1,02,065 crore. This will help in revival of rural economy and accelerating agricultural growth.

According to the statement, loans of Rs 89,810 crore were sanctioned to 1.1 crore farmer credit holders till 24 July. That is, in less than a month, 12,255 crore more loans were sanctioned.
