- Congress again got a big shock in Madhya Pradesh
- MLA Narayan Patel resigns from Mandhata
Good days of Congress are not going on in the politics of Madhya Pradesh. Within 12 days, three party MLAs have resigned. Congress MLA Narayan Patel resigned from Mandhata Assembly in Khandwa district. His resignation has been accepted by Protem Speaker Rameshwar Sharma.
Earlier, Congress MLAs Pradyuman Lodhi and Savitri Devi Kasdekar also resigned and joined BJP. After the resignation of Savitri Devi, Transport Minister Govind Singh Rajput had said that more MLAs will leave the Congress. At the same time, after resigning, Narayan Patel met Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.

Let me tell you that on March 10, 22 Congress MLAs in Madhya Pradesh resigned from the party and joined the BJP and finally brought down the then Kamal Nath government in a minority.
After this, on 12 July Congress MLA from Bada Malhara Pradyuman Singh Lodhi and on 17 July Congress MLA from Nepanagar Sumitra Devi Kasdekar also resigned. On 23 July, the Mandhata MLA also distanced himself from the Congress.
In this way, the number of those who have resigned from the party has now increased to 25 from March. After this resignation, there is to be a by-election in 27 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh.
After these resignations, Congress now has 89 MLAs, while BJP has 107 MLAs in the 230-member house. There are 7 other MLAs and independents while 27 seats are vacant. Of the 27 seats for which the by-elections are due, two seats were vacated due to the death of MLAs, while 25 others have given up their membership themselves.
