Mukhyamantri Bagwani Bima Yojana: Under MBBY, the farmers here will get Rs 40,000, know how?

Mukhyamantri Bagwani Bima Yojana: Under MBBY, farmers of Haryana will get Rs 40,000 for the loss of horticulture.

Mukhyamantri Bagwani Bima Yojana: If you are a farmer of Haryana then big news has come for you. Haryana government has decided to provide security to the farmers growing horticulture crops under the ‘Mukhyamantri Horticulture Insurance Scheme’. The decision in this regard was taken on Wednesday in the Haryana cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister of the state ML Khattar. An official statement said that the cabinet has approved the implementation of Mukhyamantri Horticulture Insurance Scheme (MBBY).

The scheme is based on the assurance of compensation to the farmers growing horticulture crops for crop loss due to adverse weather and natural calamity. Horticulture farmers have to bear huge financial losses due to various reasons. They have to face calamities like diseases in crops, unseasonal rains, storms, drought and rise in temperature.

According to the statement included in the scheme, a total of 21 vegetable, fruit and spice crops will be covered under this scheme.



Loss of Rs 40,000 will be covered

Under the insurance scheme, farmers will have to make a nominal payment of Rs 750 for vegetable and spice crop and Rs 1,000 for fruit crop and in return they will be paid Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively.

Know- how the insurance claim will be settled

Under the scheme, a survey will be conducted for settlement of insurance claims, under which the assessment of crop loss in four categories will be 25 percent, 50 percent, 75 percent and 100 percent. This scheme will be optional and will be applicable across the state.



To adopt the scheme, farmers will have to register on Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal giving details of their crop and area. Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, a seed capital of Rs 10 crore will be placed by the state government, state and district level committees for the scheme.
