Mumbai Local Train: Western Railway has announced a mega block on 26th and 27th April. This block is being done due to important re-girding work on bridge number 61 located between Kandivali and Borivali. Due to this construction work, there will be a blockage of about 35 hours on the lines of Western Railway.
Mumbai Local Train: This mega block will start from 1:00 pm on Saturday, 26 April, 2025 and end at midnight of 27/28 April, 2025. Due to which many trains have been canceled.
During this period on 26 and 27 April, suburban and mail/express trains, which usually run on the 5th line, will be rerouted to fast lines. This will also affect some long distance train services. In which some trains have been partially canceled and other changes have been made.
A total of 163 suburban trains will be cancelled on Saturday and Sunday due to the re-girdering operation, with 73 trains on the first day and 90 trains on the next day. Western Railway has advised its passengers to check the timetable before planning their journey.
To assist passengers, Western Railway has provided a detailed list of affected services in an official annexure. These details can also be accessed on the official website of Western Railway, wr.indianrailways.gov.in, so that passengers can get all the necessary information to plan their journey.
Long distance mail/express trains will also be affected
Moreover, the re-girdering work will have a significant impact on long distance mail/express train services. For instance, train number 19418 from Ahmedabad to Borivali on April 25 and 26 will terminate at Vasai Road, thereby not completing its scheduled route to Borivali.
Similarly, train no. 19417, which runs from Borivali to Ahmedabad, will start its journey from Vasai Road instead of Borivali on April 27, leading to partial cancellation between Borivali and Vasai Road.
Also, train no. 19425, which is scheduled to run from Borivali to Nandurbar on April 26 and 27, will start from Bhayander, skipping the section between Bhayander and Borivali, and finally reach Borivali from Nandurbar.
