Mumbai Local Train: Mumbaikars can get a big gift soon. There is good news for the passengers traveling in the local train which is called the life line of Mumbai. Traveling in AC of local train is going to be even cheaper. Actually, the Railway Board has proposed that the fare of single journey of AC local in Mumbai should be reduced. The Railway Board has said that this fare should be fixed on the basis of the fare of the metro train running in Mumbai.
In such a situation, along with reducing the fare, the railways will also have to increase the frequency of AC locals. Due to less number of local trains, people take out very less monthly AC pass. Due to which AC local is not getting better response from the passengers.
There will be a huge cut in rent
If this proposal of the Railway Board is passed, then Mumbai taxes may have to cost from Rs 10 to Rs 80 for traveling in AC. That means there will be a huge cut in the rent. At present, passengers have to pay fare ranging from Rs 65 to Rs 220. But there is no change in the season ticket fare in this offer.
Railway Corporation will issue tender
The Railway Board says that there will be an increase in the number of passengers in AC trains during peak and non-peak hours. Along with this, people will also have convenience in traveling. For this, Mumbai Railway Development Corporation will soon issue a tender for 238 AC trains. This will facilitate the railways and passengers.
