Mumbai Rains Updates: Torrential rain continues in many districts of Maharashtra including Mumbai. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rain in 6 districts of the state. Due to heavy rain, normal life has been disrupted. Roads are flooded with water. The speed of local trains, which are called the lifeline of Mumbai, has reduced. Schools and colleges have been closed.

Mumbai Rains Updates: The country’s financial capital Mumbai is facing the brunt of heavy rains. On Monday, Mumbai’s pace had come to a halt. The speed of the local train was slowed down. Water was seen everywhere. The situation is the same today as well. The Meteorological Department (India Meteorological Department – IMD) has issued a red alert in Mumbai for heavy rains today (July 9, 2024). IMD has predicted heavy rains in Maharashtra in three to four days. The Meteorological Department says that there will be heavy rains in Central Maharashtra and Marathwada regions from July 8 to July 10, 2024.

Schools and colleges in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Panvel as well as rural areas of Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg will remain closed today (9 July 2204). The IMD has issued a red alert for these areas. This decision applies to primary and secondary schools as well as junior and senior colleges. The local meteorological department said that heavy rains continued in Dindoshi in Mumbai early Monday, causing waterlogging in many areas.

Water filled in many areas of Mumbai

The low lying areas of Mumbai are flooded with water. Mumbai’s local station Wadala is flooded. This station comes in the Harbor Line. Harbor trains are running late. The same is the condition of the Central Line. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to moderate rains in Palghar, Thane, Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Kolhapur, Sangli, Solapur, Aurangabad, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur, Osmanabad, Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim and Yavatmal till July 12. Due to heavy rains, all examinations to be held today (July 9) in Mumbai University have been postponed. New dates will be announced soon. All schools and colleges are also closed. Schools have also been closed in Pune, Raigad and Navi Mumbai.
