Tussle over portfolio in Maharashtra before swearing-in

Before the swearing-in, there were reports of differences between NCP and NDA over portfolios in Maharashtra. However, on Sunday evening it came to light that NCP (Ajit faction) wanted the post of Cabinet Minister instead of Minister of State (Independent Charge). NCP chief Ajit Pawar said, ‘We got information about the Minister of State with independent charge but Praful Patel himself has been a cabinet minister of the Government of India earlier. We are happy that he informed us but it is a bit difficult for him to take this post… the speculations being made are wrong, there is no difference of opinion. ‘ At the same time, NCP leader Praful Patel also said, ‘There is no difference of opinion in the alliance. I have got information for the Minister of State with independent charge, but I was already a cabinet minister, so I refused to accept this post. There is no difference of opinion in the alliance regarding this.
