In May 2019, when the Captain removed him from the local bodies department and gave him the electricity department, he did not join.
Now the party wants to find the middle way. The discussion is that Navjot Sidhu will be made power secretary by making him deputy CM. This will increase his stature in the cabinet and no one will have to change his department. However, technically it is not easy to take this decision because the Congress has to focus on the caste equation as well.

The seat left by Navjot Singh Sidhu in the Captain’s cabinet is still vacant. Rana Gurjeet has also put pressure on the captain for this seat.
