NCERT Syllabus Changed: Important news for students! NCERT made major changes in class 10th, 11th and 12th syllabus

NCERT has made some changes in the syllabus. Some chapters related to the Mughal Empire will no longer be part of the history syllabus for class 12 students of CBSE and UP Board.



New Delhi:The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has made some changes in the syllabus. Some chapters related to the Mughal Empire will no longer be part of the CBSE and UP Board’s history syllabus for Class 12 students. Along with Mughal history, the syllabus of civics has also been changed. The works of Firaq and Nirala will also not appear in the syllabus. Top officials of NCERT have confirmed that some history lessons have been changed and deleted in their books.

These changes have happened in the syllabus

  • Two texts named ‘The Mughal Court’ and ‘Kings and Chronicles’ related to the history of the Mughals have been removed from the medieval history of the 12th century.
  • Many lessons have also been removed from the Political Science book of class XII.
  • The text ‘Era of one party dominance’ has been removed, which refers to the Congress rule after independence.
  • The lessons related to the Mughal court have also been removed from the 12th class of the UP board.
  • The lessons ‘Central Islamic Land’ and ‘Confrontation of Cultures’ have been removed from the Class 11 history book.
  • ‘Democracy and Diversity’ and ‘Popular Struggles and Movements’ have been removed from the 10th Political Science book.

NCERT has made many changes in ‘Aaroh Part Two’ running in Intermediate from the academic session 2023-24. In this, Firaq will not be able to read Gorakhpuri Ghazal and Suryakant Tripathi Nirala’s ‘Geet Gaane Do Mujhe’ from ‘Antara Bhag Do’. Vishnu Khare’s ‘Ek Kama aur Satya’ has also been removed by NCERT from ‘Antara Bhag Do’. Students will also not be able to read ‘Charlie Chaplin i.e. Hum Sab’ in ‘Vidyarthi Aaroh Bhag Do’ in this session.

US hegemony and cold war in the contemporary world have been removed from Contemporary World Politics in Civics book. ‘Rise of mass movement’ and ‘era of single party dominance’ have been removed from the book of Politics in Independent India. In these, the nature of dominance of Congress, Socialist Party, Communist Party of India, Bharatiya Jana Sangh etc. were taught. This new syllabus is going to be implemented from this year itself.
