Need to change high security in five jails of UP including Lucknow, Noida and Bareilly: CM will

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to install modern equipment and machines to improve the system of jails. He said that a proposal for this should be made soon. He also directed to modernize search and communication system while strengthening security system in jails.

He was reviewing the action plan for purchasing equipment and machines for jails at his government residence on Thursday. He said that arrangements for various equipment and machines related to security, communication, search and detention facilities should be made to improve the prison administration and management system. To ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the prisons (prisons) of the jails, the kitchens should be modernized. Manpower and computer hardware should be arranged for strengthening the e-prison action plan. He directed to make a proposal regarding the provision of heavy duty washing machines in jails.

The Chief Minister said that the prisons of Azamgarh, Lucknow, Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida), Bareilly and Chitrakoot are to be developed as high security prisons. These prisons include non-linear junction detector, dual scanner baggage, full human body scanner, contact less glass for the home, drone camera, body warne camera, night vision binocular, high capacity handheld metal detector, concertina fencing and heavy duty stabilizer system And arrangements should be made for CCTV cameras etc. in District Jail, Lucknow.



He said that Kovid-19 infection should be prevented from spreading in jails. Kovid-19 of prisoners and jail staff should be checked and action should be taken immediately if infection is found. Additional Chief Secretary Home and Jail Avnish Kumar Awasthi informed the Chief Minister that purchase of equipment and machines in jails was being done on priority. A proposal in this regard will be submitted shortly. Video conferencing units have been set up in all the jails and district courts in a phased manner. DG Jail Anand Kumar presented the action plan in relation to the jails.
