The company has reduced its popular mobile plan from Rs 199 a month to Rs 149 a month. This plan is the most subscribed. Half of the total users of Netflix are under this plan. The biggest relief is given in the basic plan. The price of this plan was Rs 499 earlier, but after the change, it has now become Rs 199. At the same time, the standard plan of Rs 649 has been reduced to Rs 499. Apart from this, the premium plan of Rs 799 has also been cut. Now you will have to pay Rs 649 for this plan.
Still far behind other companies
According to estimates by Media Partners Asia (MPA), Netflix lags far behind in terms of subscription users worldwide. It has around 5.5 million subscribers as of December 2021, far less than Hotstar Disney’s 46 million and Amazon Prime’s 21.8 million.
Ahead in terms of revenue
On the other hand, if we talk about revenue, then Netflix is seen ahead of other companies in this. Netflix’s subscription revenue share was 38 percent in 2020. Amazon Prime’s subscription revenue was 19 percent and Disney Hotstar’s was 21 percent.
