Airports in Bihar: Will new greenfields be built in Muzaffarpur and Purnia in Bihar? Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has answered this question in her budget speech today. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has made it clear in her speech that new greenfield airports will be built in Bihar. These airports will be in addition to Behta Airport in Patna.
The Finance Minister has also talked about making special provisions in the budget for the expansion of the civil aviation sector in Bihar. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has also talked about the construction of new airports under the Udan scheme in the budget along with the renovation of closed airports. She told that under the Udan scheme, about 1.5 crore people had traveled by air in the last financial year.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government’s target is to increase this number to four crore. For the expansion of the Udan scheme, the Finance Minister has also talked about providing air connectivity between 120 new destinations.
