The board has decided to ask 50 percent multiple choice questions in the 10th board to be held in the year 2024. Apart from 10th, 40 percent multiple choice questions will be asked in 12th board also.
CBSE has said that the new pattern will provide a lot of relief to the students. This pattern has been prepared keeping in mind the new education policy. The board has said that this change will also be implemented in the internal examinations of the school. The number of multiple choice questions will be more in the internal examinations of class IX and X.
Competency based focus questions will be asked
In the new guideline of CBSE, competency based focused questions will be asked in board and internal exams. CBSE State Counselor Dr. Pramod Kumar told that by 2022-23, the number of competency-based questions was 40 percent, it has been increased to 50 percent. Similarly, earlier 30 percent competency based questions were asked in class 12th. This has been increased to 40 percent.
Response based questions will be asked for the first time
Dr. Pramod Kumar told that for the first time CBSE has decided to ask response based questions in the board exams. In this, there will be multiple choice questions in front of the students, but the response of the students will be seen in its answer. That is, even if the student tries to solve a question, marks will be given instead. This has been done in 10th and 12th. He told that the number of response based questions will be 20 percent.
30% long and short answer type questions
CBSE will ask 30 percent short and long answer type questions in class IX and X, but these will also be response based. DAV Khabra Principal Manoj Kumar Jha said that CBSE wants students not to study by rote but to understand all the subjects completely and then write the answers to the questions.
40% long answer type questions in class 12th
Next time 40 percent long and short answer questions will be asked in the 12th board in CBSE. Earlier, 50 percent short and long answer questions were asked in CBSE 12th Board. CBSE Counselor informed that CBSE has started new pattern for the development of capacity building of the students.
