Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is India’s longest expressway, with a length of 1,380 km. Vehicles can run at speeds of up to 120 km per hour on this route, saving people both time and fuel. According to the Times of India, this mega project costs Rs 95,000 crore and will connect six states, including Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Apart from this, this expressway is also a step towards eco-friendly and sustainable infrastructure. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is using green technologies in construction. Special measures have been taken to protect wildlife, especially in areas near the Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve. The expressway includes animal corridors, tunnels and noise barriers to reduce disturbance to animals and maintain the natural habitat.
The entire expressway is expected to be operational by October 2025.
