New Expressway : The country’s largest expressway is being built, which will connect the two biggest cities. This 1,350 km long expressway is being built in several sections, and as the sections are being built, they are being opened for the common man.
New Expressway: The first section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has been opened from the capital Delhi to Dausa near Jaipur. The construction of the remaining sections is going on at a fast pace and its pictures are also coming out continuously. Just by looking at these pictures, one can imagine how great this route will be in the future. After its construction, the road route between Delhi and Mumbai becomes very easy.
Through this expressway, one can reach from Delhi to Mumbai in just 12 hours, whereas currently it takes 24 hours to cover this distance. Currently, it takes about 1,800 km to travel by road between Delhi and Mumbai, but after the new route is ready, this distance will be reduced by 450 km.
The most special thing about this expressway is that a separate lane is being built for electric vehicles on it. At present, this expressway is being made of 8 lanes, which can be made 12 lanes later. It was estimated that about Rs 1 lakh crore would be spent on its construction, but due to delay in the project, its cost is expected to increase.
This expressway is also considered very important because it will not only make the journey between Delhi and Mumbai easier, but will also make access to 6 states of the country easier. This expressway will make the route easy to Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra and will also benefit the trade in these states.
The most special thing about this expressway is that it is also considered to be the fastest expressway in the country. Vehicles are allowed to drive at a speed of 120 kmph on it. About 15 thousand hectares of land has been acquired to build it. Till now it was estimated to be ready in 2026, which has now increased by about 2 years.
The largest part of this expressway will pass through Gujarat, which will be about 426 km. The second largest part will pass through Rajasthan, whose length is said to be 373 km. A 244 km route will also pass through Madhya Pradesh, while the expressway will pass through Maharashtra for 171 km and Haryana for 129 km.
The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will not only connect Delhi to Mumbai, but will also provide access to about a dozen cities in between. This route will also make it easier to reach Jaipur, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Kota, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Bhopal, Ujjain, Ahmedabad, Indore, Surat and Vadodara.
It is believed that about 80 lakh tonnes of cement can be used to build this expressway. Not only this, its construction has not only provided jobs to thousands of engineers, but has also provided direct and indirect employment to more than 50 lakh people. After its completion, trade between Delhi and Mumbai will also get a boost.
This expressway has been divided into a total of 4 sections. The first section is DND-Faridabad-KMP, which is about 59 km long. The second section is Sohna-KMP-Vadodara, whose total length is said to be about 844 km. The third section is from Vadodara to Virar, which is 354 km long. The fourth section being constructed from Virar to JNPT is 92 km long.
