Beawar-Bharatpur Greenfield Expressway will be built in Rajasthan, which will be 342 km long. 18 months have been given for the survey. This project will facilitate traffic and reduce travel time.
Greenfield Expressway will be built from Beawar to Bharatpur (Beawar-Bharatpur Expressway) in Rajasthan. The Rajasthan government had announced this in Budget 2024. Now after the approval of the DPR of the expressway, the survey work has started. The National Highway Authority of India has been given 18 months to complete the survey. The total length of this Greenfield Expressway is 342 km. The objective of this project is to facilitate traffic between the two cities and reduce travel time. For this 3175 hectares of land will be acquired.
Budget will be available after the survey for the construction of expressway from Beawar to Bharatpur. After this the road construction work will start. It is worth noting that in the state budget last year, the construction of nine greenfield expressways was announced in Rajasthan, which also included the Beawar-Bharatpur Expressway. In this year’s budget too, many announcements have been made regarding several state highways, bypass roads, flyovers, elevated roads, ROBs, RUBs, bridge construction, repair and upgradation of roads.
This will be the route
This expressway will start from NH-58 and will be built till NH-21 of Bharatpur. It will go to Bharatpur via Gulabpura, Kekri, Todaraisingh, Uniara, Tonk, Niwai. The new highway will include such routes where there is no connectivity till now. It currently takes 7-8 hours to cover a distance of 370 km from Beawar to Bharatpur. After the construction of the new expressway, this time taken in the journey will be reduced. The greenfield expressway will be taken out of the cities. All its routes will be interconnected. By being built between less population and empty land, there will be less curves in it so that the speed of the vehicles remains maintained.
Nine expressways will be built in Rajasthan
In the last budget, it was announced to build a total of 9 express-highways in Rajasthan. Their total length will be about 2 thousand 756 kilometers. According to the ‘Vision 2047’ of the current BJP government, the government is aiming to complete five of these nine expressways by 2030, whose length is 1,361 km. These include Jaipur-Jodhpur-Pachpadra Expressway, Kotputli-Kishangarh, Jaipur-Bhilwara, Bikaner-Kotputli and Beawar-Bharatpur Jaipur-Jodhpur Expressway.
