Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the start of flight operations on 120 new routes under the ‘Udan’ scheme in the budget speech. New airports and heliports will also be constructed.

Udan Scheme Plan: Will flights start from your city too? Is the name of your city also included in the plan prepared by the Aviation Ministry? Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has answered these questions in her budget speech. She has said that to take the aviation industry to new heights, not only new airports will be built, but air connectivity will also be provided to new cities.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in her budget speech that in the last financial year, air connectivity has been provided to 1.5 lakh passengers under ‘Ude Desh Ka Aam Aadmi – Udan’. Also, in the last financial year, not only 88 airports have been constructed, but flight operations have been started from them. The government has decided to take this scheme to new heights.

Flight operations will start on 120 new routes

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that at present, flight operations are being carried out on about 619 UDAN routes, which have directly benefited about 1.5 crore air passengers. Soon, there is a plan to provide flight service for 120 new destinations this year. With the start of these new routes, air connectivity will be provided to about 4 crore new passengers.

The government is preparing to build new airports here

According to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, new airports will be built in the hilly and remote areas of Purvanchal under the UDAN scheme in the budget. Apart from this, air connectivity will be provided through helicopters by constructing heliports in many cities. The Finance Minister has also talked about building new greenfield airports in Bihar. These airports will be different from the airport being built in Behta, Patna.
