New Guidelines May Bring Back Downtown Disney Indoor Dining

0

With Disney staying quiet for such an extended period of time in regards to the reopening of the Disneyland theme parks, any news about things moving along is welcomed. Though this news doesn’t come from Disney, it does pertain to the things that Disneyland could put in motion shortly.

California Governor, Gavin Newsom announced today that this afternoon he will be meeting and discussing the reopening of California theme parks including Disneyland. With Orange County recently being removed from the pandemic watch list, Governor Newsom could potentially be lifting some restrictions and setting new guidelines that could also allow for re-expanding dining operations at restaurants in California, meaning we could see indoor dining at Downtown Disney.

When Downtown Disney District reopened in July, there were some significant changes that came along with the reopening, like health and safety measures that help protect the well being of all Guests and Cast Members. Though it hasn’t been quite as busy as it was before which could be due to the limited capacity that all the retail stores and restaurants have, there are still Guests out enjoying the magic that is alive at Downtown Disney.

Many have shared on social media that they have been comfortable and safe with their experience on their Downtown Disney visit. Guests can make reservations to enjoy the outdoor dining and soon there is a chance that restaurants will be able to host more foodies.

According to the “Blueprint for a Safer Economy,” each California county is classified under one of four tiers.

If Orange County can move from widespread to substantial, it could start reopening some indoor businesses. The map that was last updated today shows that Orange County still stands in a widespread category with a 5.0% positivity rate and San Diego County at substantial with a 3.7% positivity rate so it looks like Orange County is getting quite close to where it needs to be in order to increase some capacity to indoors.

With the news that came out from Governor Newsom today, there is a possibility that indoor dining could come back to Orange County at a limited capacity soon which includes Downtown Disney. Since Orange County has been removed from the watch list and should the numbers stay low, indoor dining could return starting with a 25% capacity limit.
