Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has expressed displeasure over the technical glitch issued in the new portal of the Income Tax Department.

According to Moneycontrol, the Finance Minister has given Infosys time till September 15 to correct the discrepancies in the new e-filing portal of the Income Tax Department.

Let us tell you that Infosys has prepared this portal itself. Earlier on Sunday, the Income Tax Department had said that the Finance Minister has summoned Parekh and he has been asked to clarify things on the problems. This is the second time that the Finance Minister has discussed the issue of the portal with the Infosys team. Earlier on June 22, he spoke to Infosys COO Praveen Rao on this issue.
Infosys got the contract in the year 2019 Infosys was given the contract
in 2019 to develop the next generation income tax filing system. The objective behind this was to reduce the return scrutiny time from 63 days to one day and speed up the refund process.
