SBI Locker Rules: State Bank of India, the country’s largest public sector bank, has sent a special message to those customers who have lockers in the bank. The bank has asked its locker holders to reach the branch of the bank and sign the new locker agreement as soon as possible. The bank has given information by tweeting about the revised locker agreement that we urge all our customers to visit the branch as soon as possible to sign the new locker agreement. The customer must read the new agreement notice before signing.

RBI has given circular to banks on locker

The Reserve Bank has directed all banks to sign new agreements with at least 50 percent of their locker holders by June 30, 2023. At the same time, by September 30, 75 percent and by December 31, 100 percent customers should be signed on the new locker agreement. Along with this, customers of all banks have also been asked to inform about the details of the new agreement. All banks will also have to update the status of their locker agreement on the efficient portal of RBI.

How much will SBI customers have to pay the charge-

Significantly, the charge will depend on the area in which the locker is located for SBI customers and how big it is. SBI charges Rs 500 for small and medium size lockers and GST separately. On the other hand, for a bigger locker, a registration fee of Rs 1000 and GST has to be paid.

Know the locker rent charge by cities and size of locker-

  • 2,000 and GST will have to be paid for taking SBI small locker in urban or metro city.
    On the other hand, for a small locker in a small city or rural area, 1,500 more GST charges will have to be paid.
  • On the other hand, for taking SBI’s medium size locker in urban or metro city, Rs 4,000 and GST will have to be paid.
  • On the other hand, for taking a medium size locker in a small town or rural area, you will have to pay Rs 3,000 plus GST.
  • For SBI’s big size locker, customers in big and metro cities will have to pay Rs 8,000 plus GST charges.
  • On the other hand, in small and rural cities, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 6,000 plus GST.
  • 12,000 and GST will have to be paid for taking the biggest locker of SBI in big cities or metro cities.
  • Whereas in small towns and rural areas, you will have to pay Rs 9,000 plus GST.
