Metro connectivity is to be done from Noida Airport to Indira Gandhi International Airport. A meeting of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and Yamuna Authority was held on Tuesday regarding this. In this, DMRC signed a contract to prepare the DPR of the metro line from New Delhi Railway Station to Knowledge Park. The track will be about 37 km long. The line will be laid separately.
Proposed till New Delhi Railway Station
The DPR from Knowledge Park in Greater Noida to Noida International Airport Jewar has already been submitted by DMRC to the authority. The approval of the Authority Board has been received on this. The Inception Report of the proposed metro line from Greater Noida Knowledge Park to New Delhi Railway Station was also presented by the representatives of DMRC in the authority.
IGI Airport can be directly connected to Jewar Airport
During the presentation of the inception report, DMRC officials said that the proposed metro route can directly connect Noida International Airport Jewar to IGI Airport via New Delhi Railway Station. With this, there will be connectivity from Noida International Airport Jewar to IGI through only one metro. Along with this, check-in facility for Noida airport will be available to the passengers at various stations of this airport line.
In the presentation, it was told by the DMRC officials that with the construction of this new metro route, the distance between the two airports would be covered in about an hour. The total number of stations on this is proposed to be 11. The proposed distance from Knowledge Park in Greater Noida to New Delhi Railway Station will be about 37 km.
34 km will be elevated
It will have 3 km underground and 34 km elevated. The location of stations in the DPR of this Metro route will be kept in such a way that the stations established earlier on the Delhi-Noida route can be integrated. The authority has requested DMRC officials to provide the DPR of the work by March 31, 2023.
