The demand being made by the residents of Gurugram for many years now seems to be getting fulfilled. In fact, the new metro line will start soon in Old Gurugram. According to a report, it is being said that 27 stations will also be built.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar (Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar) while presenting the state budget on Thursday said that the work of extension of Metro’s Yellow Line can start this year. He told that the approval of the Public Investment Board (PIB) has been received for this and once the green signal is shown by the Union Cabinet, the work on this line will start.
Let us tell you that it is also known as Gurugram Metro Project and for the last several years there has been a demand to run metro in Old Gurugram. If this work starts as per the Chief Minister’s statement, then it will be a great news for the people of Old Gurugram.
The total length of this proposed project is 28.5 km. It will start from HUDA City Center Metro and will go up to Cyber City Metro where passengers will also have the facility of interchange with Rapid Metro. Meanwhile, Metro will cover a total of 27 stations. People on this line will also be given a way to go to the Dwarka Expressway. The total estimated cost of this project is Rs 6400 crore. According to officials, this project is stuck in limbo for the last 5 years. He says that this was happening due to frequent changes in the Detail Project Report.

According to the detailed project report, apart from HUDA City Center and Cyber City, Sector 45, Cyber Park, Sector 47, Subhash Chowk, Sector 48, Sector 72A, Hero Honda Chowk, Udyog Vihar Phase 6, Sector 10, Sector 37, Basai Village, Sector 101, Sector 9, Sector 7, Sector 4, Sector 5, Ashok Vihar, Sector 3, Krishna Chowk, Palam Vihar Extension, Palam Vihar, Sector 23A, Sector 22, Udyog Vihar Phase-IV and Udyog Vihar- 5 will come.
Approval of 3 more lines-
Manohar Lal Khattar told that apart from these, 3 more metro links have been approved. These links are Rezang La Chowk to Indira Gandhi International Airport, South Peripheral Road to Global City and Panchgaon via Manesar and Bahadurgarh Metro to Asauda. The Bahadurgarh-Asoda line will also be connected to the Haryana Orbital Rail Network and the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway.
