According to the notification issued by NHAI, more toll tax will be levied on almost all the national highways and expressways of the country from April 1. NHAI had issued a notification regarding this late night, after which it will become expensive for the common people to travel on the national highways and expressways. It has been decided to impose more tax on toll plazas from April 1.
It will become expensive to travel on highways and expressways
The toll tax on highways and expressways has been increased by NHAI. The rates have been increased after reviewing the toll rates by NHAI. These include highways like Lucknow Highway, Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway, NH-9 and Delhi-Jaipur Highway. Let us tell you that NHAI has decided to increase toll tax twice in the same year.
How much toll tax has been increased
Toll tax has been increased by 5-10 rupees on most toll plazas. However, this rate is for small vehicles and for light commercial vehicles, the amount of toll tax has been increased to 20-25 rupees. Toll tax has increased by 5-10 and 20-25 rupees on highways like Lucknow-Kanpur, Ayodhya, Raebareli and Barabanki.
NH-9 and Delhi-Meerut Expressway expensive
- Toll for car/jeep from Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut increased from Rs 165 to Rs 170
- Toll tax for light commercial vehicles is Rs 275
- Toll tax for trucks is Rs 580
- Those coming to Meerut from Ghaziabad will now have to pay Rs 75 instead of Rs 70
