Traffic Rules: Sunroof cars have become very popular among Indian car buyers recently. Now most of the people are preferring to buy cars with sunroof. Standing out from the sunroof of a moving car can be a fun experience for kids and adults alike, but these acts can be dangerous. You must have often seen people doing this kind of act or you too must have done it for fun.

Please tell that doing this is dangerous for anyone and it is also considered a violation of traffic rules. A challan can also be issued against the car owner for such an act. Recently, the traffic police has started a campaign to stop this kind of deadly act. Police is preparing to send online challans against the owners of many such cars captured in CCTV cameras.

Invoice will be cut under this rule

It has started imposing a fine of Rs 1,000 on people who stick out of the sunroof on the road, considering it a violation of Section 184 (F) of the Motor Vehicles Act. This means that any violation of the rule anywhere in the country can be fined. Kolkata Traffic Police says that they are currently running a campaign to make people aware about such dangerous stunts. Police is taking action to collect video evidence and issue challans appropriately.

Why is it dangerous to get out of the sunroof?

It is dangerous to stick your head or torso out of the sunroof in a moving car, because you, the person standing outside the sunroof, are in a stationary position when the car is moving. If the car stops suddenly in such a situation, then that person can go forward at a very high speed. There is a possibility that in such a situation the person may also fall towards the front of the car or may get seriously injured by the edges of the sunroof. A person peeping out of the sunroof can lose balance due to a bump on the road or a sudden move. As a result, serious injuries or even death can result.
