New Vande Bharat Train: Vande Bharat Express is becoming the first choice of passengers in Indian Railways. In the general budget, a target of 200 new Vande Bharat trains has been set for the railways, which will be sleeper coaches. Till now Vande Bharat trains were coming only in AC and chair car. Now, in view of the demand of the people, it is being prepared in sleeper class.
Railway Board’s target of making 200 new Vande Bharat trains
The Railway Board will set a target of making two hundred trains in different coach factories. The first Vande Bharat train was prepared in the Integral Coach Factory of Chennai. Therefore, a target has been set to prepare 50 Vande Bharat with new features.
The specialty of this Vande Bharat is that it will be able to run for long distances, while there will also be a pantry car in view of the catering arrangements. The cost of one coach is Rs 7.70 crore. The existing Vande Bharat sleepers have been prepared, many changes in it will be seen in the new Vande Bharat coach.
It is believed that the Railways is going to replace other trains with this Vande Bharat in the future. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told Dainik Jagran that two hundred Vande Bharats have been approved. These are being made in a new design, while their routes will also be finalized.
Railways got a budget of 2.52 lakh crores in the budget
In the general budget, a budget of Rs 2.52 lakh crore has been released to the Railways. In the coming years, while two hundred new Vande Bharat trains will be prepared with new features and pantry cars, 100 Amrit Bharat trains, 50 Namo Bharat Rapid Rails will be prepared.
While there is a plan to add 17 thousand 500 general non AC coaches. Not only this, 1400 new coaches are also to be manufactured. The target is to prepare two thousand general coaches in the year 2025-26.
Tender given to two companies
Preparations are on to bring a new version of the new Vande Bharat train soon. Tenders were invited for this, while the names of two companies have also been finalized, which have placed low bids.
It is said that Russia’s CJSC Transmashholding and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (TMH-RVLN) has placed the lowest bid for the construction of two Vande Bharat trains. The Russian company placed the lowest bid. BHEL-Titagarh Vanag Consortium has placed the third position.
Racks with 16 to 24 coaches will be prepared
While the new Vande Bharat train will be prepared with new features, the number of coaches in them will also be different. While one rack (train) will have 16 coaches, the other will be prepared with 24 coaches.
These coaches will be prepared in the railway factory Latur (Maharashtra) and Chennai’s Integral Coach Factory (ICF). It is special that the bidder with the lowest bid will be given the responsibility of maintenance and other works.
These are the current facilities of Vande Bharat
The Vande Bharat trains running on the track at present have provided all facilities to the passengers. These include mobile, magazine, water bottle holder, snack table, integrated reading light and charging socket, while there is also a luggage room facility. Apart from this, there is a bio vacuum toilet with touch free facility.
Similarly, the first AC car of the train has a hot water shower for the passengers, a system for the driver to talk to the passengers in case of emergency, centralized coach monitoring system, information and alert control, CCTV surveillance camera, on board infotainment facility. Apart from this, GPS based LED display and announcement system, aluminium berth frame, mattresses with polyurethane foam, modular pantry service will also be available.
Apart from this, technically automatic plug door is sensor based, disaster light in every coach, disc brake and regenerative braking system in coach, platform camera in two DTC coaches and two middle TC coaches, vigilance control device and event recorder, signal exchange light system near the driver, fire safety, fire detection, fire survival cable, collision avoidance system, three hours emergency backup in OHE failure.
