New Vande Bharat Train: Indian Railways is operating Vande Bharat trains on different routes. The running of Vande Bharat has provided a lot of convenience to the passengers and people are able to travel long distances in less time.

New Vande Bharat Train: If you also travel through Indian Railways, then this news is useful for you. Ever since the Railways has started the semi-high speed train Vande Bharat, the journey of the people has become very easy. Railways is planning to run Vande Bharat trains on new routes. Through the new route, Mumbai and Mangaluru will be directly connected by combining the existing Mumbai-Goa and Mangaluru-Goa routes. According to the news published in Times Now, this upgrade will reduce the travel time to just 12 hours.

Train reaches Goa at 1:10 pm

Currently, the Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat departs at 5:25 am and reaches Goa at 1:10 pm. Under the new plan, the train will go up to Mangaluru and reach there at 6:00 pm. Similarly, the Mangaluru-Goa service, which starts at 8:30 am and reaches Goa at 1:10 pm, will be extended to Mumbai and reach at 9:00 pm.

Concerns raised about overcrowding

Railway officials have raised concerns about overcrowding at Mumbai stations in the evenings. Because many long-distance trains arrive around that time. When the Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat was first launched, up to 90 percent of the seats were filled. But now it has come down to about 70 percent. Meanwhile, the construction of the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway (BCE) is expected to be completed by June 2026, missing the August 2025 deadline.

The Mangaluru-Goa Vande Bharat is one of the least travelled routes with less than 40% occupancy. To remedy this, the railways initially proposed to extend the service to Kozhikode. However, the idea was abandoned after opposition from political leaders in Karnataka. Currently, the Mangaluru-Goa Vande Bharat takes about four and a half hours to complete its journey.
