NHAI Toll Rules: Important news for the drivers. In fact, today we are going to tell you in this news that toll is not to be paid if there is a long line on toll tax, let us know in detail the guideline of NHI in the news below…

The National Highway Authority of India i.e. NHAI had issued guidelines last year for not more than 10 seconds of service time for each vehicle at each toll plaza in the country. According to this guideline issued in May 2021, even when the traffic pressure on the toll plaza is high, the service time should not exceed 10 seconds.

Service time means the time taken by the vehicle to go beyond the toll booth after collecting the toll tax. The work of this rule is to reduce the time taken by vehicles at toll points. Also, according to the new guidelines, the line for vehicles at the toll plaza should not be more than 100 meters long. The organization had said that 100 meters before every toll booth, a yellow strip of one will be made, so that this distance can be known. Let us know what can happen if these rules are not followed.

What are the rules?

1. According to the rules, the waiting period for vehicles on toll plazas built on any national highway should not exceed 10 seconds. If this does not happen then you can go without paying tax.

2. There should not be a line of vehicles more than 100 meters long at any toll plaza, so that the passengers do not have to wait for long.
3. If you have to wait in a line longer than 100 meters, you can proceed without paying toll.

4. A yellow strip should be made at a distance of 100 meters from every toll booth.

Why was the new rule made?

After FASTag became mandatory for all vehicles in the country, the waiting time at toll plazas has reduced. According to NHAI, if there is still a long line of more than 100 meters at any toll. Vehicles will be able to proceed without paying toll. The Government of India has made Fastag mandatory and this rule has been made to prevent corruption at toll booths and to save the time of passengers.
