People protesting against police in Lagos, Nigeria’s largest city
People are protesting against the police in Lagos, Nigeria’s largest city. Meanwhile, a crowd of protesters attacked two jails. After which about 2,000 prisoners escaped from the jails. At the same time, the police has announced a curfew of 24 to prevent a stir from the protesters. In this entire case, the Inspector General of Anti-Riot Department has issued orders to increase the security of Nazaria jails.

Police said in a statement that the police force will now use the full force of the law to prevent damage to people’s lives and their property. Lagos State Governor Babajidae Sanwo-Olue said on Twitter that these demonstrations against police brutality are becoming a threat to the well being of our society. On the other hand, Mohammad Manga, the spokesman of the Ministry of Home Affairs, said that the armed men attacked two jails. Since then, 1993 prisoners have been missing. It is not known how many prisoners were in jail before the attack
